Krystina McNeil is the Director of Newlife International School of Midwifery. She and her husband, Matthew, have lived and served as missionaries for 14 years in the Philippines where they oversee a mission team numbering approximately 50 people. Krystina holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Languages and Education from Lewis and Clark College and an Associates of Science Degree in Midwifery from the National College of Midwifery. Krystina has travelled extensively throughout Central America and now considers the Philippines as her home. Krystina and Matthew are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Josie and Jessica.
For 10 years Krystina has managed Mercy Materntiy Center (MMC), a charity clinic serving impoverished families living in the squatter areas of Davao City. Prior to her work at MMC she was a midwife volunteer at two large birthing clinics located in Manila. She also has an extensive background in Primary Health Care. She developed an entire PHC training program for Bible school students and supervised many PHC clinics in squatter areas. In addition, she established a church-based prenatal clinic in Manila for impoverished women.
Krystina is a licensed midwife and a highly gifted instructor. She and her staff have trained more than 80 foreign midwife students during the past ten years. Some of these graduated students are now serving as midwives in other devloping countries. Some licensed graduates have even returned to help train new students at the school. In addition, Krystina has trained several Filipino midwives who also serve on staff positions. Over the course of these past many years Krystina, her staff and the students who have come to MMC for training have delivered more than 10,000 babies.
Additional Staff
Newlife International School of Midwifery has a staff of highly skilled and deeply committed midwives and instructors. A total of eleven certified midwives, supervisors and instructors presently serve in full time staff positions. These midwives come from places such as the United States, Canada and South Africa. We are also privileged to have an incredible staff of dedicated Filipino midwives who have served at Mercy Maternity Center for many years.

Primary Health Care Instructor
Our Primary Health Care instructor is Gideon 'Mordegai' Rossouw. He is a certified PHC instructor and has extensive experience in primary health care including dental outreaches. Mordegai is also our PHC outreach team leader and takes students and our many visitors into remote provincial areas on a weekly basis. Mordegai and his wife, Toinette, are from Namibia, South Africa. They are the proud parents of two handsome young boys.
We are also honored to have Dr. Deniega, an orthopedic surgeon of Medical Mission Hospital in Davao City as a consutling physician concerning our PHC program. And Dr. Joel Bender from Baker City, Oregon as a consulting dentist. |
