Graduation Requirements

Requirements for Undergraduate and Bachelor Degrees
Newlife Int'l School of Midwifery students are dual-enroll in the National College of Midwifery's degree programs. The programs include Associate of Science in Midwifery (A.S.M.) and Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (B.S.M).
To be considered a graduate of Newlife Int'l School of Midwifery, a student must have received an A.S.M. or higher degree from the National College of Midwifery. All degrees are granted by the National College of Midwifery that is accredited by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC).
National College of Midwifery's Associate of Science in Midwifery (A.S.M.)

Completion of 2 academic years (4 semesters).

Pass all courses with at least an 80% grade

3.0 or above over-all GPA

Completion of the General Education and Core Midwifery areas of study

Completion of the Clinical area of study

Completion of clinical experience:
-
75 prenatal exams including 20 initials
-
50 births including 20 as primary
-
10 of the 20 primary births must be in homes or out-of-hospital settings
-
A minimum of 3 of the 20 primary births must be with women for whom the student has provided primary care during at least four prenatal visits, the birth, one newborn exam, and one postpartum exam.

Pass the NARM exam and be a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM0

Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Certification
National College of Midwifery's Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (B.S.M.)

Completion of Advanced area of study, and 2 semesters of Clinical area of study

Let each applicant understand the nature of accreditation under MEAC. If students are seeking to transfer credits to another institution after graduation, they should first consult with their respective receiving college or university. |
