Newlife International School of Midwifery — Statement of Faith
Newlife International School of Midwifery is a Christian institution within the evangelical Protestant tradition. We believe the Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God and the final authority for faith and practice. We believe in one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin; that He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will personally return in glory. We believe the Holy Spirit is God, who convicts, regenerates, indwells, and empowers believers and gives spiritual gifts for service. We believe God created humanity in His image, that humanity fell into sin and is separated from God apart from His grace, and that salvation is provided solely through God’s grace because of the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and is received through personal faith in Him. We believe the Church is the body of Christ and is called to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, pursue holiness, serve others, and demonstrate the love of Christ in the world. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the personal return of Jesus Christ, the final judgment, and the eternal kingdom of God.
As a Christian institution serving students and faculty from diverse denominational backgrounds, NISM seeks to remain faithful to the essential truths of Scripture while respecting appropriate differences in denominational traditions and practices.
